Great lessons from Steve over 3 days of instruction and practice on the course. Worked a lot on short game techniques and putting. No changes to my basic swing but several very subtle alignment and stance tweaks made a huge improvement to my aim and contact. Over the past 6 months I’ve improved from an 18 handicap to 11 by adopting his advice.

I spent 4 days at the Florida Golf School with Doug Brehme at Plantation Golf Club in Sarasota. What a delight! Doug's years of experience and his patient teaching style were so helpful. Each morning Doug reviewed the fundamentals of putting, chipping, pitching, and driving in a very clear and straightforward way. His use of video recording my swing and reviewing the videos with me was particularly useful. In the afternoon we put these lessons to work on this beautiful course, and by the end of the week the lessons were really paying off. Doug will help you to improve your game whether you are a fledgling beginner or a seasoned player. I highly recommend Doug and Florida Golf School!

Jeff Sealy was an amazing instructor. As a beginner golfer, he helped me understand how to set up and swing properly in order to make better contact with the ball. He gave me several drills to practice that make a huge difference in all aspects from Tee to greens. Coming from Michigan, it as nice to stay at a resort and enjoy the two full days of golf instruction. No matter what your skill level is, you will improve your game. Not only did we get Tim, but Jeff was able to get our 3 sons their own pro, Colin for 2 of the 3 days. I have been playing golf on and off for the last 2 years and was suggested that if I really want to take it seriously I should get some lessons. So I went down to Tampa Bay for a 3 day golf lesson with Steve and Jeff from Florida golf school and I don’t regret it at all. They are both great golf coaches and really focus on what my swing really needed and the fundamentals of how to properly approach a golf shot. I highly recommend it. 10/10.

So much of the golfing and resort industry is a cash grab, and Florida Golf Schools are a 1000% not one of these. From the get go you get a husband and wife team that go out of their way to personalize the entire experience, even if it means sending you somewhere else! Cecilia made sure that my father and I got exactly what we wanted and needed. Alan, our pro, was the best at just enough lesson mixed with incredible first hand accounts of golf legends. He put us at ease as he put us through the ropes! I’ve been hitting the ball with a baby draw for the first time and show no signs of losing it.The hotel was perfect and we were treated like members at the course. Then the follow up, you know money has changed hands, everything is done and I’m still getting calls checking in about my golf game! If you want to seriously take the next step and get the red carpet treatment while you do it then FGS is the best place to go.P.S. They are even using their connections to help me plan next years trip which in no way involves them. Who does that?! I got friends who wouldn’t go through that trouble.

Had a rocky start but Jeff came through and Tim drove from 3 hours away to meet me for instruction. He was early too! Tim is a phenomenal teacher. Professional with decades of experience. The 3 day school was great! Knowledgeable pro, Marc identified weaknesses in our swings, very quickly, and with a sequence of drills, had all of us hitting more solid shots.Marc brought swing aids on the second day to individualize the lessons. By the last day, all four of us were much more comfortable with our game.We’ll be back for a tune-up when needed.

We enrolled our 12 year old son in golf school over spring break. He loved it! Chris gave great feedback and useful lesson tips. Jeff (the owner) selected Chris for the golf lessons, and it was the perfect fit. This was something he clearly loved and is eager do again.-- Our son's favorite was when Chris sent us a training video while showing our son step-by-step on both video instructions the before and after golf swing. Had an awesome two days golf school at Saddlebrook Resort, Tampa.The two courses are awesome and the staff are very friendly.The setup for the golf school is excellent, working on the swing and all round game in the morning at the well maintained range and then afternoon on course tuition is literally game changing. Being able to talk through your shot selection and thought process and get pro feedback is priceless.I was fortunate to have two different instructors on my two day package, each bringing thanks Dale Shanklandeir own style but not at the expense of being overwhelmed.Each instructor had their own specialist area so I felt I was getting a bonus.So if you’re on the fence, just book it. The two days have changed so much in my game already and given me great takeaways to work on.Special mention to my coaches Alex Calcaterra and Dale Shankland for your wisdom and patience.

I booked a 2 hour lesson for short game wedges. Venue was older property, but not crowded on a Wednesday. Jeff, my instructor was punctual and attentive to my lesson objectives. He tailored the instructions to my preferences. I had read the course curriculum previously and it was spot on for my needs. I have had group lessons on short game with other notabl schools, but this 2 hours was way better. I’ve been provided class notes for future reference and a seemingly sincere offer to follow up should I have questions. While I’ve not yet practiced what I’ve learned nor applied it to the golf course, I’m pretty confident it’s going to be a huge help. So far, I give these folks an A+!

I attended a 2 day golf school at Deer Creek. Colin was my pro and immediately had me correcting errors in my swing and relearning the fundamentals. We spent mornings at the range, putting green and the bunkers. Afternoons were playing out on the course along with my pro. It was a quality experience, well with the money and 2:1 student ratio. The next day after school I played one of my best rounds in a long time!

The golf instructor, Steve, did an excellent job of breaking down my swing and correcting my faults. He was patient when I got frustrated at trying to learn something new. He took many videos to give me so that I can remember what I learned. We went out on the course, where he gave me course management advice and worked on my swing some more. And he is highly entertaining as well. I got about 20 hours of instruction in three days and enjoyed all of it! As for the Sandpiper Bay Resort, ignore the negative reviews from the past. The new owners are putting a lot of work into the place and it shows. The rooms are out of date but serviceable. They are scheduled to all be renovated over the next year and then should be great. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The food was very good and unlimited. There are many activities other than golf at the resort, such as tennis, swimming, boating, exercise classes, massage, etc. It's an excellent place to stay. Overall, this was a terrific experience and once I absorb Steve's lessons, I could drop my handicap even more.

I enjoyed a two day golf school with Alex Calcaterra over the Thanksgiving weekend. Not only was Alex precise in understanding what I was doing but within minutes of watching me swing he offered suggestions that made for much better contact with the ball and was really clear in describing what I needed to do. Clearly describing what makes for a good golf swing is not something many people can do. Otherwise, wouldn’t people just do it?! Alex was also interested in making sure I understood what I needed to do so that my swing becomes second nature and doesn’t dissolve into my old bad habits. And we spent some time on chipping and putting technique also which was so helpful. And Alex provided me with three videos of mebefore and after swing, video of a Spanish tour player compared with me side by side and video of me, side by side with Rory McIlroy. My new swing thought is across and around my chest. Not only was I impressed with how skilled and patient a teacher Alex is but also I was delighted with how much Alex seems to enjoy what he’s doing. I’ll be back for more lessons with Alex for sure!

Just finished two days with Steve Pereira from Florida Golf Schools. Steve helped me to understand my game and how I could be a better golfer. He reconstructed my swing and shots, gave me insightful keys to improve my swing. He was funny yet really worked me hard to understand how to improve my game. We worked on every aspect, short shots, driver, sand, putter while stressing easy to remember keys.In addition he shot video of me executing the correct alignment, takeaway and finish.This was money well spent. Recently started playing golf within the past year. My swing tends to miss (slice) right but through the instruction I received I now not only hit the ball straight but know how to draw and fade a ball. I also used to hit the ground before the ball and don’t have that problem anymore. We also worked on our short game, and not only did I learn the basics but also more advanced concepts that make the game easier for everyone. Outstanding experience. A trip for four golfers to celebrate one's 50th birthday. A range of golf skills, but we all benefited from -- and enjoyed -- Coach Marc's expertise, his instruction style, and his company over three days of golf and general fun. Daily instruction and drills in the morning, followed by lunch and afternoon time on the course with Marc, where his earlier instruction and in-real-time coaching steered us toward much better scores than we'd started out with. After some time absorbing and reinforcing this trip's lessons, a future trip is something I'll consider, too.

Four of us spent a weekend with Jeff who was outstanding in helping us learn, improve and diagnose our game. He thoughtfully balances the needs and techniques to improve ones game while recognizing the need for all players to stay within their needs and abilities. Met Jeff Carreira a few months ago. Been getting instructions from many "instructors" who have either made my game worse or just not better. After only 1 instruction from Jeff, I have finally improved my game to where I am feeling much more comfortable with my swing. I discovered Florida Golf Schools while searching for destination golf training to escape the cold for a few days. I have struggled with an over the top swing for years and just recently have started over rotating causing swaying and major hooking of the ball. Jeff was very experienced and I enjoyed how he was able to watch me hit a few balls and be able to tell me exactly what we needed to work on. We hit lots of balls at the range in the morning followed by a practice round of golf after lunch. There are no sand bunkers on my home course so I have only hit out of sand once or twice. Jeff had me looking like a pro and made it easy to learn but more importantly to remember. I am very excited to take my new swing home and practice hitting lots of balls to make it a new “consistent” swing. I asked two of my friends who relocated to Cape Coral recenly to join me for 2 day camp. It was a first time taking this kind of lessons for all of us. Jeff Carreira is originally from Hadley, Massachusetts. He attended Hopkins Academy in Hadley where he started the high school golf team. In his Senior year he took the team to the state championship. He continued his golf career in college and later participated on the New England Tour for 2 years. He was the Assistant Golf Professional at Hickory Ridge Country Club in Amherst, Massachusetts and went on to be the General Manager of Cherry Hill Golf Course in Amherst, Massachusetts.
Jeff later relocated to Clearwater, Florida accepting a full time teaching position. He noticed that the majority of golf schools offered large group style instruction. He also noted that even if all of the students had the same handicap they were all working on different components of the game. Most schools had set dates and were adding as many students as possible. The classes had 30 to 40 students in a group and the instructor would be spending his time talking about the swing and other aspects of the game but was not providing individualized attention.
Jeff saw that by starting his own school he could provide the individualized attention that was key to improving the students golf game. He also wanted students to be able to customize their experience by selecting their own dates and times and the exact location they desired. Additionally he wanted to provide on course instruction so that students would not only be able to improve their game but also understand how to take their game from the practice facility to the golf course. The ratio of student to instructor would be a maximum 4 on 1 with private 2 on 1 and 1 on 1 options available.
Jeff was the recipient of the 2006 PGA Assistant Golf Professional of the Year Award and the 2008 National Golf School teacher of the Year. He has worked with many different levels of players including touring professionals, college players, juniors and physically and visually challenged golfers. He has a vast understanding of the golf swing, chipping, putting, pitching, bunkers and course management.
Jeff has also made appearances on ESPN Radio and hosted his own radio show in Tampa, Florida called the PGA Pros Hotline where students would call in and ask questions about their game. He has also published articles in many golfing publications and was Co-Author of the PGA Golf Professional Teaching Manual.
